Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kilimanjaro / Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Transfer to your lodge in Arusha. Briefing on the trek, gear check, and rest for the first night to prepare for the climb.

Day 2: Arusha – Machame Gate / Base Camp

Drive to Machame Gate (or your chosen route start). Trek through lush rainforest to the first campsite. Enjoy the natural beauty while allowing your body to begin acclimatizing.

Day 3: Rainforest to Shira Plateau

Trek through the rainforest to reach Shira Plateau. Gradual altitude gain allows for acclimatization. Scenic views of volcanic landscapes and moorlands. Overnight camping.

Day 4: Shira Plateau – Barranco Camp

Cross the lava ridges and moorlands to Barranco Camp. Prepare for altitude change. Optional short hikes to improve acclimatization. Overnight camping at Barranco Camp.

Day 5: Barranco Camp – Karanga Valley

Descend into Barranco Valley and climb the Barranco Wall. Trek to Karanga Valley Camp for another acclimatization night before heading higher.

Day 6: Karanga Valley – Barafu Camp

Ascend through alpine desert to Barafu Camp. Early dinner and rest before the summit attempt. Sleep is essential for energy conservation.

Day 7: Summit Day – Uhuru Peak

Midnight departure for the summit. Trek through night conditions to Stella Point and onward to Uhuru Peak (5,895m). Witness sunrise from Africa’s highest point. Descend to Mweka Camp for overnight rest.

Day 8: Mweka Camp – Descent to Mweka Gate

Final descent through rainforest to Mweka Gate. Certificate ceremony for successful climbers. Transfer to Arusha lodge for rest and shower.

Day 9: Rest & Recovery in Arusha

Day of relaxation in Arusha. Optional city tours, cultural visits, or spa day to recover from the summit.

Day 10: Optional Safari Day (Tarangire / Lake Manyara)

Enjoy a day safari in nearby national parks. See elephants, lions, and other wildlife. This is a gentle day to allow further recovery from altitude exertion.

Day 11: Arusha Leisure / Cultural Exploration

Spend the day visiting local markets, Maasai villages, or coffee plantations. Learn about Tanzanian culture and lifestyle. Prepare for departure.

Day 12: Departure

Transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for departure. Conclude an unforgettable Mount Kilimanjaro adventure with memories of Africa’s highest peak.
